About Dr. Kang

Dr. Kang is the founding partner and owner of Selah Women’s Health. She moved to Redding in 2013 with her husband and four young children, excited to care for the women of the North State area. Prior to this, Dr. Kang served as an obstetrician-gynecologist for 3 years in the Navajo Nation Indian Health Service, where she received multiple awards for innovative clinical care and high patient satisfaction. While there, she developed further expertise in the management of high-risk pregnancy, serving as Medical Director for the Diabetes in Pregnancy Program. She continues to enjoy the privilege of partnering with women in their pregnancy and birth experience.

She is also experienced in minimally-invasive surgery, giving women surgical options for treatment that reduce their recovery time significantly. Her other professional interests include pediatric and adolescent gynecology, and social justice issues for women and children. Her strong desire to see full health restored to individuals, families, and communities is one of the driving forces behind the expansion of programs at Selah, including the development of our non-profit organization, Selah Health International, that serves our community and communities abroad through programs such as MotherGold and MotherFree.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, gardening, hiking, and music. Both her professional and personal experiences contribute to her unique family-centered and culturally-honoring approach to women’s healthcare. She values the importance of building healing relationships with women and their families, to maintain and restore good health.

About Leslie

Leslie Pope was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, but was drawn to Shasta County in her early adult years. Here is where she met her now husband, who has very deep family roots in this area.  Although she moved back to Las Vegas for her nursing education, they married the day before her pinning ceremony and moved back to Redding later that same week.  She began working as a Registered Nurse at Mercy Medical Center, and it did not take long before she became a favorite nurse team leader on every floor she worked.

Her passion for excellence and her proclivity as an ardent champion of others makes her a natural leader wherever she is placed. She was also involved in nursing education by precepting new nursing graduates and participating in providing continuing medical education for nurses within her unit.

Leslie found her calling to women’s health from the first day she worked on Labor & Delivery. Encountering women in pregnancy and birth ignited tremendous passion in her to support and empower women and their families.  She was beloved on the unit for her gregarious and encouraging style - with patients, fellow nurses, and providers. Her passion led her to pursue further education and become a nurse practitioner so that she could serve women in even greater ways.

Leslie’s excellence and her commitment to her patients and staff has made her a wonderful addition to Selah. She is an active listener and strives to help create a genuine caring environment.  Her years of experience as a labor & delivery nurse are a great asset to our pregnant patients, and her refreshing sense of humor and optimism help reduce anxiety and discomfort in the setting of such sensitive medical encounters.

Leslie lives with her husband and two beautiful children, and hanging out with them is her favorite pastime.  Together, they also enjoy camping, fishing, boating on the lake, hosting backyard BBQs, and spending time with friends.

About Jordan

Jordan received her DPT (Doctor of Physical Therapy) from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2015 and her B.S. from Washington State University in 2012.  She has worked as a physical therapist for five years - first as a traveling physical therapist around California and now in Redding, where she specializes in women’s physical therapy.

She and her team help patients identify and strengthen their pelvic floor with a customized treatment plan.

"I know the need is very high, and many women experience pelvic floor dysfunction and can feel embarrassed, isolated, or ashamed.
However, physical therapy can treat many conditions related to the pelvic floor.
I am so excited to serve our community and provide women the tools and resources to decrease pain or dysfunction and to improve their quality of life.

A thorough evaluation of the musculoskeletal system will be performed to determine the cause of the problem, and an individualized program will be provided.

One mission. One team.
